Nambe Wood

• Nambe items made with wood may be washed by hand using a mild detergent and a soft cloth. Dry these products immediately with a soft cloth

• Do not place items made with wood in the dishwasher

• Do not leave wood in standing water for extended periods of time

• Nourish wood surfaces with mineral oil applied with a #0000 grade super fine steel wool or a soft cloth; let stand for one hour, wash away excess with a mild detergent and soft cloth, then dry immediately with a soft cloth

Nambe Enamel

• Nambe items with enamel color may be washed by hand using a mild detergent and a soft cloth. Dry these products immediately with a soft cloth

• Only polish the exposed alloy portion of enamel pieces

.• Repolish service is not available on enamel itemsh

Nambe Bowls, Platters, Plates and Casseroles

• Hand-wash your Nambe metal with mild soap and water to ensure cleanliness. Dry immediately with a soft clean cloth. Never place Nambe in the dishwasher. Never leave Nambe in standing water.

• Use wooden or soft rubber utensils. Others will cause scratching.

• Preheat or chill Nambe metal, then lightly coat the interior with cooking oil each time prior to placing food in it in order to protect finish. Failure to do so will result in discoloration and/or pitting caused by hightly acidic or salty foods, such as dairy, mayonaise, tomatoes, other fruits, and vinegars.

• Nambe's properties of thermal retention make it perfect for cooking in the oven, under the broiler, or on the gas or electric stovetop. Never place Nambe in a microwave oven.

• Leaving food inyour Nambe for longer than 3 hours is not recommended. Food left in your Nambe metal for long periods will result in discoloration. Citrus fruits, peeled or unpeeled, can cause discoloration.

• Dust and fingerprints can be removed with a soft cloth and window cleaner.

• If discoloration occurs on bowls and platters, it can often be removed with our exclusive Nambe Polish.

• To remove fine scratches on Nambe bowls or platters, use(000) or (0000) steel wool and a small amount of Nambe Polish. Buff with a soft, clean cloth. Using polish or steel wool on any Nambe items other than bowls, platters, plates and casseroles is not recommended.

• Fresh cut flowers, plants and standing water are not recommended. Please note: This does not apply to Nambe vases.

• Normal cooking and serving use will eventually result in a natural patina.

• Each Nambe piece goes through a series of shaping, grinding, buffing and polishing steps. Slight imperfections found on Nambe's brilliant finish are characteristic of the sand casting process, and since Nambe is handcrafted, no two pieces are exactly alike.

• Use care when placing heavier Nambe pieces on glass surfaces.

Nambe Serving In Nambe Metal

• Because of Nambe's excellent ability to retain both hot and cold temperatures, food served in Nambe metal will remain piping hot or freshly chilled throughout your meal. Leaving food in your Nambe for longer than 3 hours is not recommended.

• Preheat or chill Nambe metal, then lightly coat the interior with cooking oil each time prior to placing food in it in order to protect finish.

• Never place Nambe in a microwave oven. Nambe Cleaning And Polishing Nambe Metal.

• Hand-wash your Nambe metal with mild soap and water to ensure cleanliness. Dry immediately with a soft clean cloth. Never place Nambe in the dishwasher. Never leave Nambe in standing water.

• We do not recommend using Nambe Polish or steel wool on any Nambe items other than bowls, platters, plates and casseroles. Window cleaner and a soft cloth may be used for cleaning. Silver or other metal polish is not recommended for any Nambe items.

About Your Nambe Wine Server

• Nambe's thermal retention capabilities allow your Wine Server to maintain any desired temperature. Store your Server in the freezer, then place chilled wine inside.

• Depending on your climate, condensation may develop on the outside of the Server. A leather coaster has been provided to help protect the surface of your table should this occur.

• For hot spiced wine, cider or sake, place your Server in the oven, on a stove burner, or under hot tap water. Be cautious not to heat the server to the point that it cannot be handled.

• Dust and fingerprints can be removed with a soft, clean cloth and window cleaner. If used for fresh flowers, the interior of your Server may become stained.

Nambe Salt & Pepper Shakers

In humid climates, we suggest adding a few grains of rice to your salt to prevent the salt from sticking. We recommend that you do not store your salt & pepper shakers on the stove. The heat may cause the stoppers to melt.

Nambe Candleholders

It is best to avoid using sharp objects to remove wax from your candleholders. Instead, run them under hot water until the wax peels away from the metal. As with all candleholders, be cautious of excess wax that may drip onto your table.

Nambe Vases

• Change water in vases daily to prevent discoloration from standing water.

• If discoloration should occur, the inside of metal vases can be scrubbed with a bottle brush or medium-grade steel wool. The interior of the vase is an unfinished surface that will not be harmed by these slightly abrasive materials. However, be extremely careful not to scratch the exterior of the vase.

• Use care when placing heavier Nambe vases on glass surfaces.

Nambe Salad Servers

We recommend treating wood products occasionally with mineral oil which is absorbed into the wood and, unlike vegetable oils, will not become rancid. Never immerse your salad servers in water; simply wipe off the surface with a hot, soapy damp cloth to remove any food or dressings.

Nambe Metal Champagne Flutes

• Try pre-chilling your Nambe Champagne Flutes in the refrigerator before serving in them.

• It is best to empty champagne from your flutes and wash and dry them soon after serving. Leaving your Nambe Champagne Flutes unwashed overnight will result in discoloration.

• Dust and fingerprints can be removed with a soft, clean cloth and window cleaner.

• To protect the exterior finish of your piece, always wash by hand with mild, soapy water and dry immediately.

Nambe Wave & Moon Frames

The Wave and Moon Frames consist of a metal base, two pieces of glass, a plastic gasket and a metal clip. These frames may be assembled either vertically or horizontally, with either one or two photos. For two-sided display, mount two photos back-to-back, utilizing the plastic gasket to support the glass in a fully upright position. Or showcase a single image by omitting the plastic gasket---the resulting tilt will present your photo beautifully. Use a soft cloth and glass cleaner to remove dust and fingerprints from both metal and glass parts of your frame. In the event of breakage, replacement glass can be purchased at local hardware shops. Ask for 1/8th beveled glass in the size needed for your frame.

Nambe Assembly

Glass pieces are fragile;please handle them with care. Unwrap base, glass, plastic gasket and clip. Remove any protective pads or foam from glass pieces. Clean glass with glass cleaner and a soft cloth.

• Put a lined sheet of paper under the glass to line up photo(s).

• Use only two photographs per frame. More than two will not fit in base.

• Lay second sheet of glass on top of photo(s) creating a "sandwich".

• If you are not using the plastic gasket, skip the next three steps. Instead, place the sandwich in the metal base, tilting glass back slightly.

• Pinching sandwich together, rest it upside-down in frame base. (Pinching the glass together helps prevent photo(s) from shifting.)

• Place plastic gasket onto the top edge of the sandwich.

• Again pinching sheets of glass together, flip sandwich over. (Photo(s) will now be right side up). Carefully press gasket edge of sandwich into the metal base, using firm, steady pressure.

• Slide metal clip onto top of sandwich. Center it on glass.

• Wipe off any fingerprints with glass cleaner and a soft cloth.

To disassemble a Wave or Moon Frame turn the frame upside down, take metal clip off, open glass slightly and remove photo(s). Close glass pieces, turn upside down, and rock base back and forth to remove glass from base.

Caution - Glass pieces are fragile; please handle them with care.

All Nambe Metal Frames

Replacement glass can be purchased at local hardware shops. Ask for 1/8" glass with polished edges, and beveled edges for the Wave and Moon Frames, in the size needed for your frame. Ask for 1/16"glass with poilished edges for the Rectangular and Rounded Rectangular Frames in the size needed for your frame.

Nambe Clock Battery Replacement

Nambe clock require standard watch batteries. Local jewelers may be able to provide additional assistance with replacing the battery.

• Remove the clock face from the main body of the clock, taking care not to scratch either. Turn the face over and remove the rubber ring.

• Locate the small, rectangular notch. Take a small, flat instrument, such as an eyeglasses screwdriver, and carefully insert it into the slot. With a slight twist of the wrist, the back cover will pop off. The battery may be removed with the same tool used to open the back cover, provided proper caution is used to avoid damaging the clock's interior.

• Once the battery has been replaced, close the back cover by applying firm pressure while grasping the face between the thumb and forefinger of both hands. Locate the small, half-moon shaped indentation on the inside rim of the back cover. This indentation is meant to fit over the spindle that attaches to the crown-stopper. After the back cover is in place, stretch the rubber ring around the edge of the clock face and gently push the face back into the body of the clock.

Nambe Limited Warranty

All Seiko Timepieces are warranted against manufacturers' defects. To file a claim call 1-800-443-0339. Nambe will make final decisions for all claims. Customer will be responsible for all shipping charges.

Nambe Metal Holiday Ornaments

Nambe silver clad metal ornaments have been treated to ensure they will not tarnish.

• To clean your ornaments, simply wipe with a soft cloth.

• Using polish or cleaning solution on your ornaments is not recommended as it will remove the treatment.

• Always store your ornaments in treated flannel bag.

Nambe Crystal & Colored Glass

Crystal and glass are fragile materials and require delicate handling. Here are our recommendations:

• Protect from sudden changes in temperature and strong sunlight. Displaying in sunny windows for extended periods is not recommended. Hot water or sudden temperature changes may cause piece to break.

• Handwashing is recommended for all crystal barware, giftware and glassware. To wash use very warm water - not hot - and any kind of detergent free of abrasives.

• Hand dry immediately with a soft cotton cloth to prevent spotting.

• Window-cleaning liquid or rubbing alcohol is recommended for cleaning any of the crystal and glass pieces.

• Removing stains: Swirl a handful of uncooked rice in a solution of lemon juice or vinegar and warm water to remove residue inside a decanter or vase.

• Tougher stains: Try warm water with a denture cleaning tablet, allowing it to soak.

• If a chip is discovered in your crystal, take your peice to a local crystal shop or crystal engraver for sanding.

• For Crystal clocks see clock specifications.

• Crystal frames have front inserts made of acetate, which are notched in one corner. To change the photo, pull on this notch and carefully remove the acetate. Insert the photo, then replace the acetate.

• Candleholders: Caution - The candle must not burn within one inch of the crystal, as this may result in damage to the candleholder.

Nambe Porcelain

• Nambe un-decorated porcelain is dishwasher-safe.

• Decorated porcelain should be hand-washed.

• Nambe porcelain serving items are oven-safe.

• Nambe porcelain is microwave-safe, with the exception of pieces decorated with gold, silver or platinum.

Nambe Flatware

Nambe's stainless steel flatware is durable and easy to care for. To keep it looking beautiful year after year, please follow these recommendations:

• Wash your Nambe flatware as soon as possible after each use, which will prevent discoloration or pitting that can be caused by acidic foods. Leaving flatware unwashed overnight is not recommended.

• We recommend that you do not soak your flatware or leave it in standing water.

• Avoid harsh acidic detergents, such as lemon or other citrus dishwashing soaps, as they can harm your flatware.

• Nambe flatware is dishwasher safe.

• Rinse each piece before loading in the dishwasher and do not overcrowd the dishwasher basket-leave space between each piece for best results.

• If cleaning by hand, use warm soapy water, a mild soap and soft sponge. Dry promptly.

• Keep your flatware away from open flame or sources of extreme heat.

• Discoloration on flatware may be removed with a paste of baking soda and water.

• Stainless steel polish or Nambe polish may also be used to polish Nambe flatware.

• Nambe flatware and serving items can scratch Name metal serving pieces. Use care when using these item together.

• Do not store your Nambe flatware in plastic bags or other wrappings that can trap moisture. For safe storage, remove from original packaging and wrap pieces individually in a soft cloth.
